The Trek
I have always maintained that there are only three species of animal that are 'noble' and it is entirely on their terms that we get to spend time together.
Gorilla are amongst those three(Elephant and Whales are the other two).
Huge and incredibly gentle with their own family, the entirely vegetarian Gorilla is a magnificent animal.
How it works?
After a quick briefing you will start your hike up into the dense forest and up the Virunga mountains. In order to catch up with your Gorilla family you will typically hike for 1-3 hours. Your porters and rangers use machetes to cut through the thickest parts of the forest, the hike alone is an experience to remember.
Once you arrive with the Gorilla, you will get to spend 1 full hour with them.
We recommend 2 or 3 days with the gorilla. This ensures that if you miss catching up with them, you can try again the following day.
The privilege to be amongst them is eye opening.
