My Story

The breadth of Sean’s expertise in the safari business is unrivalled; as is his lineage as the scion of one of Kenya’s most renowned guiding families. Trained by his father, Nigel Dundas, one of the first partners of Kenya’s most famous safari company, Ker and Downey, Sean’s childhood was sculpted by the sheer magnificence of the African wilderness. And, immersed as he was, in the glories of savannah, forests, mountains, rivers and coastlines alike, Sean’s future as one of Kenya’s most elite guides was assured. It was his belief in the delivery of an entirely holistic, and intimately-tailored safari experience, however, that led Sean to found his own company.

Dundas Safaris is unique in the versatility of its skills-palette. Team-proficiencies range from traditional bush-craft to professional photography; and from mountaineering to fly-fishing. Passionate about exploring, Sean can incorporate hiking, rock-climbing, riding, biking and scuba-diving into his itineraries. Well-versed in palaeontology, geology, ecology and history he also excels in showcasing the glory of African culture. An inveterate traveller, Sean has traveled on expeditions across Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Namibia, Botswana and even as far as Antarctica. Supremely adaptable, his safaris can feature everything from traditional bush camps to impossibly luxurious private retreats; while modes of transport can as easily incorporate camels as helicopters. It is Sean’s dedication to perfection and his love for his craft, however, that sets him apart from other guides. ‘There are no lengths to which I won’t go to ensure that my clients get the ultimate safari,’ he says.
